In Hong Kong, you may find the hometowns of many friends and relatives are in the Siyi. But where exactly is the Siyi? In fact, it refers to four former counties of Taishan, Kaiping, Enping and Xinhui. Later the Siyi has become the Wuyi, currently administered by Jiangmen, with the addition of Heshan. The Wuyi is famous for having numerous overseas Chinese because many determined to explore in San Francisco, US, for a new life.
The above is the reason why Jiangmen’s tourist attractions are also closely related to overseas Chinese. If you have watched "Let the Bullets Fly", you might remember Goose City in the film took place in Diaolou, or the Clock Towers, in Zili Village of Kaiping. After the film releases, Kaiping Diaolou has become world-famous. With a Western architectural style, the watchtowers were built by overseas Chinese for family members staying in Jiangmen to prevent bandits and floods. Similarly, western-style buildings in Chikan Ancient Town are funded by overseas Chinese to build. Although these buildings were not built by Westerners, they have a touch of western style. Therefore, many films with the theme of the Republic of China have been shot here.
Besides overseas Chinese, hot springs are also famous in Jiangmen. In TV travel programmes, you may have often seen the advertisement for hot springs in Jiangmen. They are such an attraction that countless tourists spend their vacation there every year. With abundant geothermal resources, Jiangmen is one of the towns of hot spring in China. Among the counties in Jiangmen, Enping has the largest number of hot springs. These hot springs are rich in healthy and therapeutic minerals. Whether you are visiting your families or enjoying your vacation with hot springs, Jiangmen has all the reason for you to visit again and again.

The average temperature over the year is 23°C. July is the hottest month, with an average temperature of 30°C; January is the coldest month, with an average temperature of 14°C. The average monthly rainfall is around 88.5 mm.
The official currency of Jiangmen is Yuan Renminbi (CNY).
The official language of Jiangmen is Putonghua. Cantonese is also widely spoken.
The social customs of Jiangmen are similar to those practised in other parts of China. There may be a slight difference in how Jiangmen people celebrate some festivals. For example, in the Lantern Festival, local people not only eat tangyuan, but also go to temples to wish for a blissful and peaceful year. They hang lanterns in the temples or city halls. There is also a golden dragon dance performance for your enjoyment.
Local people enjoy having gourmet and an inclusive food culture in Jiangmen. Cantonese cuisine is commonly served on the dining table of Jiangmen people. The dishes are mainly seafood and game. Night markets and morning tea culture are popular in this city. Special local food such as Enping rice noodles and Taishan swamp eel rice can be found in different districts and cities in Jiangmen.

Bus: There are buses running different routes throughout the city. Fares are RMB 1-6.5.
Sightseeing bus: The fare is around RMB 4. Announcements are made in both Putonghua and English. You can listen to the introductions of the attractions in Cantonese, Putonghua and English on the bus. There are 1-2 “tour guide” on board to guide and assist tourists.
Taxi: Taxis are available in the city, with RMB 7 as the starting fare.
