The Giza pyramid complex

Address: Al Haram, Giza Governorate, Egypt

Everyone would agree that the pyramids and the Giza Necropolis are the representations of Egypt. The Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as the Pyramid of Khufu), which is the tallest among the complex, was listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is by far the oldest of the ancient Wonders and the only one still standing. This pyramid complex is also a treasure to many archaeologists and historians.

The Giza pyramid complex includes three main pyramids, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx of Giza. The three pyramids are for Pharaoh Khufu, Pharaoh Khafre and Pharaoh Menkaure. The Great Sphinx of Giza is the largest and oldest of all, with its four sides facing four directions. It is still a mystery of how ancient techniques were able to construct this hundred-metre tall building with massive stones weighing tons. Next to it is the Giza Solar Boat Museum where you will find a replica of an ancient Egypt solar boat.
